November 5, 2009
Im going to start it off with Proclaiming 2009.,....
The Year of the Douchebag Champion..... the mascot will be Chris Christie..... A recently elected Governor of New Jersey ( the title alone should raise eyebrows.... and the fact his name is essential chris chris ) who narrowly defeated a Corrupt and not very popular Jon Corzine..... who ran on an anti-courrption ticket..... who illegally used a Clip from Monty Python without copyright permission on the eve of the election.... but it's new Jersey, whaddya gonna do ?
After such a strong year of Champions in 2008... Eli's first ( even though he's kinda of a chump.... ) Someone not named Tebow, Our Victorious Jayhawks, The Celtics, and The Phillies......
What Have we been treated to in 2009 ? Well, it started off with a BANG when the Florida captured a BCS Title after Tebow Cried at a Media Conference ( I promise I will not mention him ever again .... Im crying as i say that... tears of Joy.... ) Then there was James Harrison refusing to go to the white house... not becuase he dislikes the president but because the President didn't invite the Steelers over ANYWAY..... Then of course only the Biggest Douchebag in NCAA ( not you Myles Brand.... oh wait still too soon ??? ) gets a ring.... I swear, Tyler Hansborough has the same game I have inside 6 feet.... and the same game I have Outside 6 feet.... the only difference... he outweighs me by 100 pounds. Then Kobe. Then SId Crosby. Now A-rod and Jeter..... Christ even Golf couldn't field a tiger, or phil... Instead we got an ANgel, A lucas, a Stewart and a Yang.....
Yup.... 2009 The year of the Douchebag Champion.
Here's to 2010, whatever it will be because I hope none of these douchebags repeat as champions.... though I will give National Douchebag of the Year Tyler a Hansborough a pass.... INdiana being over .500 with Brandon and Danny Granger would be a miracle alone.... let alone Hansborough becoming the first NCAAer to go title to title in Ncaa and NBA..... Here's to a new year.....
With that in Mind, let's sing Auld Lang Sign to the Jayhawk Football Team.... it's a New Football season because there is literally NO Pressure on you anymore.... most of the Die hard Jayhawk fans have changed the calender and your Basketball Brehtren help establish that point with an Xavier steal, a Tyshawn alley, and an Elijah OOP! Let's see you finish strong with 33-1 or 4-0... Im holding out hope for yeah Todd... Have your Homewrecking moment in completely stupifying Texas and ruining their perfect season.... You have the talent and ability to finsh this up strong even though you have struggled lately and it all begins with Flipping the W on K-state.... You make them Mild, and you should be able to handle the Nebraska Crnhuskers ( yes, there is No "O" in Lincln this year Virginia )... Win or Lose against Texas those two get us Bowling and we end it with blood fued against a "freshman" named Blaine...
Speaking of Tigers, Our Upcoming Hhoops Date with Memphis is right around the corner, and while I can assure you Josh Pastner WILL teach Free throws.... his Cheating former Boss Calipari is still not preaching the fundamentals of NCAA Basketball.... The WIldcats or as i will refer to them from here on.... the Kentucky Vacaters, who are off to a 2 game leave of absense with soon to be vacated NCAA freshman of the Year John Wall, won a pivotal conference matchup with Campbellsport 74-38..... when asked about his teams flat even 50 percent from the field and SCALDING 21.4 from trifecta, John Calpari stated... he intended to play John Wall through his manditory NCAA 2 Game Suspension because he objects to any rules that limits his teams ability to post a W ( even if it immediately will be rescended upon the season's end do to ineligibility ) but in a nod to giving the NCAA infractions committee SOME credulity... he admited he will not Need wall for month and will be fine running through the first couple games without their soon to be vacated Freshman of the Year...... A team who is not such a flush state of competition was Syracuse, who played their vaunted 2-3 Zone defense to a Loss to Division II Lemoyne....
Yes, Syracuse.... top 4 team in the big east lost to a College Named after Simon Lemoyne... a Jesuit Priest....... who incidentally had a nice Sky Hook....
My Pre- Pres season picks to win the Big are as follows.....
Big 12 - Kansas. Darkhorse- Texas...That's basically the chances..... when your longshot is Texas who is easily the second best team in your conference..... That how confident I am in OUR Jayhawks.
Big 11 ( 10 ) - Michigan State. Darkhorse - Wisconsin. Alot of people are high on Purdue, and while i LOATHE Bo Ryan's Congelied Cheese Offense, they don't often give away games..... this division will be a tightly contested low scoring division.... even for the conference that routinely score in the 40's during conference season....... those are your top 3 in any particular order..... most likely the Spartans
Sec - Kentucky. Darkhorse - Mississippi State. This of course is to say, the SEC crown willbe vacated by the infractions committee shortly after the season's end.... if EITHER team wins...Ricardo Sidney is John Wall in a Burgundy and white UNi.... and legitimately the second best Freshman in the conference..... Also, likely benefiter of Brian Clifton there by i hold out my own special odds for this conference..... 4-1 chance that this division won by someone who will have to vacate the season...... 20-1 a Legitmately unpaid College team will ACTUALLY win the SEC regular season.
Pac-10. ......... Who's in the pac-10 for basketball.... washington ? really ? OK washington.... with my Darkhorse being UCLA ???? Can Bobo Morgan live upto his weight in hype or has this conference really gone so Bland in Basketball .... that a team with an interim coach ( Arizona ), a team i don't know anything about ( Cal ), A team i Know the coach of ( washington ) and a team decimated by the OAD ( UCLA ) are the top 4 teams..... Yeeeshhh !
BIg East...... tough conference got significantly less difficult this season, and looks to be 'nova's for the taking.... and i Like Jay wright... tough home court coach.... excellent recruiter.... not afraid to let his Players punch opposing players in the nuts..... Darkhorse looming on the horizon, West Virginia... they added a Lady Mountaineer mascot and they keep Ebanks.... will that be E-Nough to get them into the upper tier..... stay tuned.
who am I forgetting.... Oh Right, THEM.
Dick Vitale's conference..... reigning Champ decimated by seniors going pro.... reigning Chump still a point guard short thansk to being number 2 in the wall-stakes ( plus has working on another Hip replacement )..... Maryland kept the services of gary Williams so they will be a dismal failure..... Virginia's got Tony bennett... and he retained his heart from the west coast..... MIami is still miami ( legimate under the radar team that JUST seems to miss ).....I gotta go Duke favorite, Darkhorse Boston College. yes Coach K will undoubtedly need a new hip by the end of this season.... i think he's the odds on favorite to win the Vitale's Dome.... awarded to the most overhyped basketball team in the NCAA's.
That is all for now......as always Discuss.

i don't know about you Mullen, but last i checked the Health Insurance comapnies have had no Governmental regulation for a while now..... and American Health Insurance costs have gone astronomical..... When The public option is passed, and your rates become lower because Insurance comapnies can no longer earn record profits out of your Investment into their HMO', or PPO's....When they have to start covering more people because they have to compete, you can thank Barack Hussein Obama.... Make sure you add the Hussein when you thank him... His family deserves respect, and decency for the hard work they put forth on their Phenominal Son ;)

Wayward,
You truly are another wayward American. If you believe for a second that a Government run health care program will be better than the one we have now you are delusional. Name some programs that the government has taken over that have succeded, now they want to take over one of the most important and run it into the ground. And yes a public option would just be the beginning to the gov completely taking over. There have been several clips of liberal trash talking about how they want completely take it over. And as for the nobel piss prize that prize is a joke now and everyone knows it. How can you give a prize to a president who has of yet done nothing, and is overseeing a war, a war, yes I said a war, that is not very peaceful.

well jayhawk...
One could say the same for you.... Mullen. Lost in the abyss of Fox News. I do honestly believe that a health care program run by the government will be better than the ones we have.... So does Bill Krystal. On the Daily show, he suggested the program we have for our Troops is first rate, and the desrve only the best. It's an expensive plan but it is truly the best money can buy. If we all had the OPPURtunity to buy into that option I don't think many of us would pass it up.... UNless we seriously could not afford it.
I have total and utter faith that Government CAN do what's right for the American People.... the question is will they ..... Take over, Hell.... If the Insurance companies cannot compete with a government plan...isn't that what the free market is about.... The best idea wins ???? He who can offer the best deal, shall be the Winner.... You free market conservatives only like the Market when it suits you.... Like Ruppert Murdoch....
Ruppert's all about Free Market, not bad for an aussie. He establishes an American Television Network in taiwan that reaches into mainland china, broadcasts Pro-America, Pro-Democracy Programs.... probably the ilk you find on Fox News today..... China Steps in ..... Blocks his signal to mainland china, and Ruppert's got a decision.... You can Continuing the broadcasts as blocked by China, or switch to Pro- COmmunist China propaganda..... Which road did he take.... the morally correct or the fiscally correct......
I hope you didn't suggest He live to his conservative Ideals...... Because he chose Money.
Do you think anyone from Roger Ailes on down to Glenn Beck oir Steve Doucy has ever once complained about being the Brother Station to a Pro- Communist China Propaganda Network ????
NO, Because they Choose money over their conservative Ideals..... None of their viewers calls them on it.......

As for Obama's record for the Peace prize, Who would you have rather won it ???? really..... They give it out every year, i believe.... I think the Nobel people have even explained why they decided to give it to Obama.... Because in a span of 10 months, he has made drastic moves to promote Peace..... He has made drastic moves to reinstate America's good name in the eyes of diplomats everywhere..... AS for War, I don't recall him saying..... Your either with us or against us..... I don't remember him diverting troops from Afghanistan to Invade Iraq, and Last i heard.... He was not the one who suggested we invade a quagmire of logistical Proportions... from weather to climate, to religion as currently represented iN Afghanistan..... infact, here again is MORE proof he deserves the Nobel... Because he stands by his word to solemnly treat the troops under his command with the repsect previous admistrations have not......His OWN party does not want a Protracted war in Afghanistan but he is willing to look to the future of the Children of Afghanistan and America..... It's in our best interest to see BUsh's mess cleaned up as well as possible, and the right man is doing the Job. He's trying to make America better on a shoe string budget, and he's trying to return our troops home and keep those who MUST be in harm's way as well protected as possible......
he hasn't earned an A rating in my eyes... i haven't even graded his presidency yet, because we aren't even a full year into his ACTUAL term.... and yet people are already sugesting he's "done" nothing.....
Last I saw the economy was heading up, I'm not so concerned about my checkbook, and as I work in a business that is often a front line of both health care and a struggling economy, i see very little in the way of it relapsing.....
We have Recession, he finds way to help bring back the economy.
We have Kayne acting up, he calls Kanye a Jackass.
The only thing i DOn't like about Obama... he's kind of a fickle sports fan.... With the exception of the White Sox, and I cannot Stand Ozzie Guillen..... he stand sby them liuke he has stood by the AMerican People..... even those who don't agree with him....

He probably did not even think he deserved it. As for Fox news what are you talking about I don't even have cable I don't listen to Fox it is crap as far as I'm concerned. Jayhawk... YOu speak fox's base line pretty well, for someone who doesn't listen.... I honestly don't believe you...
I disagree. Less government gets us into historically bad predicaments.... everytime a republican deregulates, his cronies just clamp onto their money tight and grab more from you adn I..... Happens in the 20's happened in 70's.... happened again in the 80's- 90's../.. happened under BUsh 2.... you see... this goes back to the center argument of the Republican Economy.... Reagan economics, voodoo economics, trickle down.... they all function on giving tax breaks to those who " work the hardest...." and therefore deserve the most tax breaks..... the therory is he inturn pays his employees better wages and all rise up....
Sorry, I don't buy it. History says those who have, greedily hold on for more..... Barack Hussein Obama, or if you prefer Mr. President.... doesn't either....
And thanks to Represenative Cao, we can call it Bi-Partisan Health Care reform.... good luck in 2010..... your party needs it.

Cash for Clunkers certainly worked. The stimulus IS responsible for the rebound in the economy, wanna see proof... look at the roads that have been improved by the Stimulus spending..... Government run Health care will lower your premiums, and make it less of a burden on small business.....
You live in constant Proof of the success of the last 10 months.... yet you refuse to see what's actually happening.... Check the Dow.... it's doing alot better now than 10 months ago.... 12 months ago..... As i said in an earlier conversation, I certainly have seen the improvement on my companie's stock prices..... they continue to go up.... whn they were dropping before Obama Took over.....

All I have to say is true Americans don't show compassion for those who depend on the government for everything. No true Americans show compassion for those who don't lean on the government for anything...There are 300 million people in this country and 30 million of them dont have health insurance. yes that is a problem. But a government run healthcare option will kill is as a country. Where else in the world has a government run healthcare program worked? Do you think our government is just too great that we cant fail? What government run program in this country has been successful? Medicare? no Medicaid? no Social Security? no.
Healthcare is 1/6 our economy, do we really need our crappy, elitist, out of touch with society government running it? NO.
The rates on insurance will go down? are you on crack? There will be no rates for insurance because the government will bankrupt the insurance companies because none of the incurance companies will be able to compete with the government. Add all those jobs lost to unemployment, thank you Obama.
Why do you praise this guy? He is a hack. Hasn't done one damn thing to improve our country in his entire life, not one.
What really irks me is he doesn't ever say anything patriotic, never. He has not said one thing in support of our troops, not one. He goes overseas and apologizes for Americans? Are you kidding me? This guy is a moron. We have this huge deficit on our hands that my generation will have to pay off and they want to add a $1.2 trillion healthcare plan to that? No I dont want that. I dont want to have to pay China back my entire life. On top of that they want another stimulus bill. Is this some sick joke? What the hell happened to my country?
And look who he surrounds himself with. Rom emanual? He doesnt think old people should have healthcare. Kevin Jennings? Wants to promote homosexuality to our kids in school. He also admired harry haye, nough said there. Anita Dunn? Oh yeah she just loves Mao zedong so thats awesome. We all heard about all the suspicious people surrounding Obama before he became president and I think a lot of people shrugged it off. Well look at him now.
What we saw last week with the elections in Virginia and NJ are just a taste of what we will see in 2010, you just wait and see.
Let's get these morons out of office and get real Americans making decisions.

America has always been better when the government lets the private sector run itself...The government getting involved in the private sector is a nightmare...Who did Cash for Clunkers work for? Didnt do anything for us...In fact it cost us money...And it stimulated the economy...in Japan and China. Oh yeah and all the people that used cash for clunkers money will be paying taxes on that money.
What on God's green Earth makes you think that the government can successfully run healthcare for 300 people? What have they done to give you that confidence? They could barely run Cash for Clunkers for cryin out loud!
As far as the Nobel Peace Prize goes that lost its credibility after Gore won it so that doesnt even bother me. Im not shocked that Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize for doing absolutely nothing. I am surprised that Americans gave him the White House based on the same credentials.

Im sick of the left wing nut jobs that lean on the government for everything. People who believe everything the government says are ridiculous. Obviously Wayward is one of those people that are eating right out of the palm of their hands.
By the way, economists were saying long before Obama became president that the economy would revive itself. I gotta believe that spending money we don't have is not helping in that process. Sure isn't helping the unemployment numbers as they have reached double digits now.

The unemployment rate is a huge indicator of how the economy is doing and it's lower than it has been since 1983. One in 10 Americans is out of a job right now. Thanks Hussein. Just look around you almost every strip shop is suffering and many buildings sit vacant just wait until the commericial side collapses. Gee wiz.

OK, Sutton. I thought you knew me better than that.... I really did.... Shameful. Contrary to popular belief, not all Democrat's are Mindless liberals.... Some just choose to believe that America works best when it bring everyone up to a Greater and More Decent standard of Living.
What makes me think we can run Health Care, is the same thing that makes Bill Krystal ( not the actor..... the conservative ) think we can run Health Care for 300 people.... WE have great coverage for our troops, I don't understand why Average Americans cannot buy into that plan if they so choose ????
Do Our Troops deserve something so Good other citizens cannot PAY IN ????? Granted, don't take that as something against our Troops, but COuldn't our Government Rake in hand over Fist selling that insurance THEY Pay for for the Best soldiers on Earth, by offering that SAME Coverage to us for $ X.XX a month ????
See this is why it WILL work if they ever get to this.... You don't have Just ONE option.... You work with Insurance comapnies to help Keep THEM afloat. You don't hand them a Blank Check like the Bush Administration did, but you certainly don't hand them their Pink Slip either......
Those companies have been making bank off of you and I of rmany years now, Specifically their ceo's, yet they now refuse to Cover us.....
My Mom has a $5,000.00 Deductable if she gets the Flu and has to be hospitalized, she will not be covered for anything related to headache because they fear she already has a pre-existing condition..... She works at least 40 hours a week and lives a pretty healthy Lifestyle... There's no excuse for this, and this is where you guys SHOULD agree a Public Option is available. You wanna talk about Death Panels, what is she facing if something Major goes wrong.... Bankruptcy because she got pneumonia ???? There is a huge flaw with the situation as is..... I HAVE insurance, but if i get sick im out $500.00, and there is no guarantuee IT will be covered..... They don't have a problem taking our money when we are healthy, why do they have a problem covering us when we get sick.

Ok, Canada,Germany,Sweden,France, etc. etc. etc. Can have some sort of "working" Health Care system through their Government.... Why Can't we ???? Before you go there..... Alot of conservatives throw the Canada system under the Bus, but listen to What Glenn Beck is saying about our american system as of January 2008, before democrats could change anything, and see if that is any better than the "horrors" of the "communist" systems in the world.....

Wayward,
Our troops have good coverage because they cannot take people that have pre-existing conditions. Are you kidding me? No one can have epilepsy or anything like that or they will be discharged. Also the fact that they fight for our country might have something to do with it...What about the senators that you so love and want them to put in a public option? They have the best coverage of all but do they want to be covered by this awesome public option? nope...Theres somehting fishy about that.
All of the countries you named have terrible government run healthcare...In Canada if you tear your ACL you may have to wait 2 months to get an MRI and a year to get the surgery. Now imagine if youre an athlete, no surgery for a year? Oh boy! If your mom gets the flu under government run healthcare then she wont get tamiflu in time and will have to stick the flu out just like everyone else. I dont know what news you watch but I have yet to see a rasmussen poll that suggests people want a public option, not one.
And you claim you want to try a public option but there in lies the problem. Once you go to government run healthcare there is no turning back. Several countries have tried to get out of government run healthcare but cant do it because the government is so greedy, much like ours will be if this passes. I agree that something needs to be done but massive overhaul of Healthcare in such a short amount of time is ridiculous. If the bill wont go into affect until 2013 then whats the rush? Oh yeah, they all know they will be losing their jobs next year thats why.
To suggest that Conservatives have not proposed anything is ludicrous as well. Not saying you did suggest that but most Libs have suggested that Conservatives have no solutions. Well we do. How about competition over state lines for insurance? that would lower insurance costs over night. Or how about TORT reform? That too would lower the cost of healthcare. Why hasn't the Obama administration looked into these ideas? because they want the power and they dont give a damn about what we have to say. Obama is a pompous ass for not getting bi-partisanship on this bill.
And didnt you see where 45% of doctors will quit practicing if this bill gets passed? Where will your mom go then if she gets the flu? not her own doctor but a new one that the government will have picked out for her.
Oh and we all know how much libs love paying taxes well guess how much our taxes will go up once this passes? we are talking around 30% and thats crazy talk! Especially after he promised not to raise taxes...Obama is a liar and a fool.
And you're mad about a company making money off Americans for health insurance, isn't that the free market we live in? The government should not get involved in the private sector or you will see more businesses go belly up. Unemployment is out of control, why dont we focus on that for now and put a hold on this healthcare crap.

if we end up in the same situation in 8 years after obama ( i hope you realize he's not going anywhere...give me one republican option that stands a chance against him.... ) it's another 8 years some thought America couldn't make it through...... we shouldn't fight about this...
The troops DO get great coverage, and deserve it.
Don't you think ALL Americans deserve the best also, though ?
We don't get the best by Tort Reform.... I'm sorry. Competing acrossed statelines does not force the providers to lower their rates....... It just makes it look their are better options. Tort Rform is smoke and mirrors reform. the Power is still only in the providers hands, and that my dearest sutton is totalitarianism, not free market.
Gitmo would be closed right now for not one thing.... We ain't got places to ship the detainees we illegally detained. You want freedom from terrorists the same thign I do, but when we imprision free men, we in alot of case make terrorists. So what do YOU suppose we do to get rid of people we shouldn't have locked up in the first place ????
We learned a lesson this weekend, that ALL Americans should take stock in.... Representative Cao did what he is supposd to do, and hopefully that willsend waives through the parties.... He voted what his constitutants would want, not what is best for him. We elect people do what WE want them to.... The Public Mandates it's own fate.... We elected Obama, whether you voted for him or not.... His decisions are OUR decisions....
61 percent of the people want a Government option. it's time to give it too them.... if it doesn;t work... we retool it until it does..... it CAN and WILL work if people do what they are elected to do.
Serve the people's will.
Free Market doesn't work that way. it has long since served the needs of the consumer..... and how can we really CALL it a fre market when it's a govenrment sonspored entity at this point.... to say we live in a republic is a facade anymore.... and that is more republican than you will get on Fox news..... So why Deny it. Free market failed us, mostly because of people's individual greed. The Gordon Gecko got us. The same guy who got us in the industrial revolution.

You're delusional if you think the government will be able to provide everyone with the best healthcare...45% of our doctors will quit...Imagine that, 45%...The government is the problem. They are the mess, why would we want them to control 1/6 our economy when there is so much government corruption?...I never said that a Republican was going to take Obama out but when we take over in 2010, and we will take over in 2010, Obama wont be able to carry out his socialistic agenda. Don't you see that they are rushing this healthcare thing because they know they wont be able to pass it next year? Doesn't that raise any red flags? Free market didn't fail us, the government failed us. All these bailouts are such a waste of time because they have done nothing but waste tax dollars, which this administration is doing a damn fine job of wasting tax dollars. You keep saying 61% but I still have yet to see a poll that says that, maybe that was on CNNs online poll or something...Cao voted for the healthcare bill to save his own ass and he even said it himself that he made sure it was going to pass no matter what before he voted yes for the healthcare bill. If the vote would have been closer then he would have voted no. He lives in a highly democratic district and he wants a chance to get re-elected and thats the only reason he voted for the bill. Like I said, if it looked like libs wouldn't have had enough votes then he wouldnt have voted for it.You can call the free market totalitarianism if you so choose but this government is pure socialism and in what nation has socialism worked? You keep saying that if we do tort reform and make insurance competitive over state lines that it will still be in the hands of the insurance companies well duh its their choice what they want to set their prices at thats the free market. If Pepsi wants to raise their prices on their soda then thats their choice. The government has no right to interfere with that.
And you say that TORT reform and making insurance competitive across state lines wouldnt do much. Yet you're willing to spend $1.2 trillion on a healthcare overhaul, you say we should just give it a chance. I would like to give TORT reform a chance and increasing competition over state lines a chance before doing this massive waste of money. TORT reform would cost us nothing and making insurance available over state lines would cost us nothing and I would be willing to bet that insurance prices would go down. I like my healthcare, I dont care that it costs a ton of money. At least I know that when something happens to me Im going to get the best care possible. I cannot say that will be the same under obamacare. I wont be able to see my own doctor because he will quit and even if he doesnt I still wont get to choose who I want to see. And when I get old I will have no care, at all. This overhaul is not the answer to healthcare problems and the socialists in Washington know it too.

I'm not real comfortable with the government being involved in insurance/medical care.
But, there is a way the government, and when I say government I mean Reb and Dem, they're all the same anyway-----there is a way they could get me to be more supportive.
Pass new health care legislation, etc and then put ALL federal employees on the program 1st, including senators, congressmen, judges, the president and his family, etc, let them work out the kinks for a year or two, and then make it available to the rest of the public..........Bet it would be a decent program.

Yeah one of my biggest problems is that there is absolutely no bipartisanship on this healthcare plan, zero. I dont want the government to intrude on my everyday life like that. We need to change definitely but this is not the change I would like to see and I know of several people that are having voter's remorse right now.

Representative Anh "joseph" Cao most assuredly voted for the proposal and he's a republican....
Olympia Snowe has been for other versions of this Bill and Im sure that Obama is working the phones trying to get anyone who will break from the Party in on this one.
With this, It seems as if there is no moving some hurdles though.... Not all Democrats are listening to their constituants in this one.... Some are only using THEIR values.... and by values i mean wallets.... Ben Nelson Specifically.
See the whole Bi-Partisanship thing is interesting because.... at least Obama's trying.... The previous 8 years..... you had Bush's plan and you were for it or against it..... if you were against it....tough luck because he had the votes to push anything he wanted through.
There is very little dissent in the Republican Party, thye pretty much follow what X leader in charge says....... I honestly cannot give Michael Steele any credentials because frankly, he doesn't seem like a good leader. He threatens to pull support from any voter who strays from the party line.... of course if that's America to you ...So be it.
I like it over here in my party that sometimes infuriates me with it's inability to work together..... because frankly....we HAVE the votes to shove this proposal down your throats..... we just don't agree on how it's supposed to be worded.... it's a catch 22.... it seems like we don't get anything done, but it's closer to the ideals of the founding fathers.....
it would be great if the democrats could unite behind a vote...... hell it would be nice to see all americans unite behinmd a vote for once.... Al Franken's first piece of legislation was that refused to allow employers the write to write into their contracts they cannot be sued for misappropriate of employees on overseas government contracts.... This one came about because the good ole' boys at Halliburton sent a female officer overseas and she was RAPED by people FROM Halliburton. SHe tried to sue when she came BACK, and she was denied because she signed a paper that waived her right to Sue in going overseas.
That Bill passed 68-30..... all "no's" were republican. Seriously, is that not a bill we can ALL get behind.... the dissentors, specifically both kansas senators, stated it was a dig at Halliburton for the No-Bid Government Contracts they were given during the Previous Administration and It should be an EMployers right to have whatever riders they want in their contracts..... it's funny where their values lie. It's ok not allow American's adequate Health Care coverage, it's OKAY to have contracts that have cannot sue for rape clauses, but it's not okay to abort a fertilized Egg because it's a Human Life and All life is sacred. Isn't that a strange Hypocracy ?????

In regards to the Military having great heathcare are you speaking of active duty or retired. I believe it was about 2 years ago the military was huge trouble because of the horrible conditons at own hospitals here in the U.S there was a big lawsuit because of it. Also I have many Doctor's as friends and tell me that it is like a big joke to work at a VFW, also because the hospitals are never stocked the good equipment and there is always poor care because no one want to work there. So basicly you have residents and others doing there fellowship at these places until they can get real jobs in the work world. It will be pretty sad if the government takes control and doctors don't even want to work in hospitals because of bad work conditions. Which will happen if Hussein takes control. Also WaywardAmerican have you read animal farm lately tell me that is not how Hussein is taking this country. My assignment to you is that you go and read Animal Farm and come back and report. And please do some research before you come on your own blog and tell us how good Military coverage is.

No this isnt a bill we can all get behind...I find it funny that you are willing to just try a bill that costs so much yet youre not willing to try things that would cost us nothing...Didnt Obama run on not spending? Obama is a liar. Olympia Snowe wont vote for the bill in the end it will only be Dems voting for it...And did you really say that Ben Nelson is not listening to his constituents? I live in Nebraska and he most certainly is listening to his constituents. I live in Lincoln, the liberal city in the state, but I know that most of Nebraska does not want this healthcare bill at all. And what you say about Bush is not true at all...Libs voted for the patriot act but Nancy Pelosi would never admit it today, shes a liar as well. I too think Michael Steele is weak. I think the Republican party is pretty weak right now because they have gotten so far away from conservative principals but we are on our way back. Dems are scared about next year and thats why theyre trying to push this bill through right now because they have no shot at getting it done after next year. Nancy Pelosi better find another job so she can afford all those face lifts. Like I said I do not consider myself a Republican in the least bit, I am a fiscal Conservative American. I am pro life no matter what because abortion is murder and Im really going to be pissed if public funded abortion is included in this bill if it passes. They say it wont but I know the slimy dems will find a way to sneak it in the back door like they always do. I say we vote everyone out in Washington and get true Americans in Congress. You know, those who have to work for everything they have. Farmers, business men and women, Doctors, Lawyers, moms, and dads. Real Americans, not these elitists who are so out of touch with society it's not even funny.

The only thing I disagree with suttonku is that 45% of Doctors will quit. That might be a little off. I don't think that doctors are willing to throw all there education away. Less people might go to med school but doctors will not quit.

A lot of my family works in pharmaceuticals and I know of several doctors who have said they will quit if this healthcare passes...They wouldnt be throwing away all their education because they could just get another job that requires higher education...Doctors that made really good grades could easily ind other jobs that pay very well.
Trust me, doctors will quit. And you're right we will have less and less doctors because of this as well as nurses.
