Taylor, U.S. hoops team leave for New Zealand

Kansas University sophomore Tyshawn Taylor and his USA Basketball Under 19 World Championship teammates left training camp in Colorado Springs on Thursday for Auckland, New Zealand, site of the July 2-12 tournament.

In the preliminary round, Team USA will play Iran on July 2, France on July 3 and Egypt on July 4. Second-round action will take place July 6-8. Quarterfinals are July 10, semifinals July 11 and finals July 12.

None of those overseas teams are going to know what hit them. Recall Sherron saying TT was even "faster" than him. Great experience for Tyshawn!

Iran, France and Egypt.......I think our kids could beat them if we played them one after another in the same afternoon!!!

I hope there's better competiton than this or else we'll have to send over KU's second squad!!
